What type of dealer license do I receive?
You will receive a wholesale license issued by the State of Indiana. If you want to sell retail, you can conduct those transactions with one of our retail locations, or through a dealership in your local area.

Can I sell retail and export with this license?
YES! You may sell wholesale with your Indiana wholesale dealer license, as well as export. If you desire to sell retail, you can conduct those transactions with one of our retail locations across the country, or through a dealership in your local area.

How long will it take to get my Indiana Wholesale Dealer License?
Approximately four weeks, sometimes sooner. We are able to file for your dealer license once we receive your insurance certificate, bond and all needed paperwork. Once we file for your license, we should receive your license within three to four weeks.

Do I need to be an Indiana resident?
No, you may reside and work anywhere in the United States. You simply need an office in Indiana, which we provide.

Why do I need a dealer license?
Every state limits the number of vehicles a person can buy and sell in a calendar year. Additionally, if you are buying and selling cars for profit, you are required to obtain a dealer license.

What are the requirements to getting a dealer license?
You need to have a valid driver's license or state Id card and a social security number. Your driver license also qualifies as your government issued identification.

I am worried that I will not get approved for a bond or that the costs are too expensive? Can you help me?
Our agents offer a bond for as low as $250! If you are credit challenged, the bond can range from $350 - $700.

What do I get with your company?
You will get your own dealership office, a limited liability company or corporation, a registered retail merchant certificate (sales tax permit,) and your Federal Employer Identification Number. Additionally, you will receive your dealer license and Metal Dealer Plates from the State of Indiana.

Is this my company or am I a partner of another dealership?
This is your own business. However, we are there for you, every step of the way, to help you succeed. The owners of National dealer License are active auto dealers themselves, and are happy to share their knowledge with you.

Are the dealer plates valid anywhere?
Yes, the dealer plates are accepted in all 50 states. Remember to always carry the registration card and proof of insurance with you at all times.

What auctions can I attend with my Indiana Wholesale Dealer License?
You can attend any wholesale, dealer auction, public auction, government auction, or online auction. In addition, you can attend insurance and salvage auctions, such as Insurance Auto Auctions (IAAI) and CoPart.

What is required in order for me to obtain my own dealer license?
You will need to furnish proof of your identity. You will also have to show proof of insurance and a bond (we provide you with a list of agents that can assist you quickly and easily.) We will provide you a location for your office, along with a completed dealer application, and obtain the following: articles of organization for your company, a registered retail merchant certificate, and Federal Employer Identification Number.

Do I pay sales tax on the vehicles I buy?
No. As a licensed dealer, all vehicles you purchase for resale are considered tax exempt, and no sales tax is due.

Do I receive any training once I have my license?
Yes. We pride ourselves on offering any kind of follow up support needed. We cater to the novice and the most experienced dealer.

How do I calculate my income taxes at the end of the year?
Simply track all of your sales, cost of goods sold (cost of the vehicles you sold,) and your expenses. You can then simply report your profit from your dealership on your taxes. Many dealers keep these records and hire a tax professional at the end of the year to complete and file their taxes.

You may also choose to utilize our accounting services, which will help you organize and maintain your records throughout the year, as well as prepare your end of year taxes. Please call our office for more information.

Can I cancel at any time?
You can provide us with 30 days notice that you are vacating your dealer office. You must also notify the State of Indiana, and turn in your dealer license and plates to their office.

What forms of payment do you accept?
To begin the process, you may pay us via cashier check, money order, credit cards, and electronic fund transfer. Regarding paying your monthly rent for your office, we require our dealers to set up automated electronic funds transfer, or discuss an alternative method of payment prior to execution of the lease.

What if I do not pay my rent?
If non-payment extends beyond the grace period of your lease, and we have not received communication from you regarding your intent to pay your rent and continue your business, we will notify the State of Indiana that your dealership no longer has a office at our hosting facility. Your license will be suspended and you will be asked to surrender your dealer license and dealer plates immediately.

How do I learn more about your company?
Our company is registered and in good standing with the State of Indiana, Secretary of State. Our parent company is also listed with the Better Business Bureau, with a perfect history. You are also welcome to come and visit us at any time at our dealership hosting facility or company headquarters.

How do I get stared?
Call our office for a dealer application package and a list of insurance agents that can assist you to obtain an insurance and bond policy. Once you accept a quote, and complete the application, we can begin the process with the State of Indiana and get you licensed quickly.
